I distinctly remember writing this song. I was sitting in my bedroom on the 2nd floor of our ancient house on the Air Force base in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Many of the SKOC songs (at least, all the ones that I wrote) were written on bass, which seems weird to me now. Anyway, the lyrics to this song were inspired by an issue of Spiderman. There was this loser villain called Rocket Racer who I loved. This was one of SKOC's signature songs, for sure. Anyway, this was recorded at Time Capsule studios in Denver for our "Eggnogs for Invalids" EP. This song also began a 15+ year trend of me dropping F-bombs in otherwise radio-friendly pop songs.
